Seems that everywhere you turn, people are skirting the issues. Our nation, our churches, our schools, each individual. I am no exception and I suspect, neither are you.
None of us are immune from our past experiences. How we choose to handle what has happened to us in the past is a direct result from our upbringing and what we witnessed as children. Our personalities, sun-signs, aura types, genetic make-up, birth order, and religious beliefs all influence our decisions and our choices.
Many of us need to undo things. We cannot unlearn, unbreak, get unstung or erase our histories. We cannot simply forget, wipeout or hypnotize ourselves into a different reality. We are a direct result of all that has happened to us and how we responded at the time.
I know I would like to re-program several things in my life. I have made some great choices, some so-so choices and too many bad choices. I can't forget them but I can start over. I can become willing to look at things from a different perspective. I can face whatever it is that consumes me. I can look at the past without regret. I can refuse to allow my past blunders to ruin my today. I can also deny them interference with my tomorrow.
Whatever you are unwilling or unable to face within yourself, you risk running head-on in the world around you. ---Sheldon Kopp
Are you going the wrong way on a one-way street or maybe speeding through life's school zones? If you are stuck in life's traffic: stop a second and start paying attention. It may be as simple as answering this question: are you unwilling or unable?
Avoid a head-on collision. Turn around and face yourself.
