Rules

I'm a little sick of all of the so-called rules. Rules for games, rules for behavior, rules for women, rules for men, rules for life.

Rules are necessary but where do we draw the line? Who decided what was right and what was wrong? Sometimes it is okay to break the rules, no consequences. Other times, meaningless infractions result in punishment. Sometimes we rationalize and just hope that people get it "in the end". End of what? This life, the next life, the next time?

Money sure makes a difference. The more you have, the easier it is to fudge a bit. Gender seems to count. But that topic is reserved for a Molly's Musing. Age seems to matter, as does social status. And what about religion?

I confess. I do not understand most of what happens around me. Most times, I feel like I have no control over life circumstances. When I try the hardest to play by the rules, I fall ridiculously behind in the score. Try as I might, I cannot catch up, let alone move ahead and win.

I need a new game plan. One that I can follow. One that makes sense. One that will foster love and kindness and gentleness of spirit. One with a pay-off.

Matthew 5:11-12 God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be happy about it. Be very glad. For a great reward awaits you in heaven.

Take the journey with me. Together we can create our spirituality. Climb aboard. Let's meet in the first pew of God's sanctuary because we no longer have to sit in the back of the bus or the back of the church…………..
