Age is a hard thing to come to grips with for most of us. There are things I can no longer do physically, things that I can still do but take me longer and things I used to like doing that I no longer want to do. In any case, I have to rest longer and more frequently. This, I am not happy about.

Age is a hard thing for me to tell on most people. Lots of us look older than we really are, some of us look younger and some look just the age we ought to.

I met a woman today that looked at least 10 - 15 years younger than her stated age of 91. Her skin was not wrinkled, her cheeks were rosy and smooth and she had a sparkle in her eye. She is very thin but not bent over, and her mind appears very sharp. She is a bit hard of hearing and insisted on calling me "Bea" instead of "Dee". That's okay…I've been called worse.

When she told me how old she was, I commented to her that she did not look 91. Her reply, "Sometimes the outside works a lot better than the inside."

I think of spirituality that way. We can put on a front, do the right things, go through the motions, and appear to the whole wide world that we are on the up and up. Are we really?

Proverbs 27:19. "As a face is reflected in the water, so the heart reflects the person." So no matter our actions, the Divine Spirit knows our intent.

Does your outside match your inside? If not, it's time to get inside/out.
