Musings for September 8

Has anyone else realized that the weather people on the news think we're idiots? Seriously, look at how many times they tell us how to dress and what to take with us, in terms of umbrellas and jackets. They also mention how to dress your kids, etc.

I don't know about anyone else but I feel insulted. I'm not an idiot and I can look at the sky, step outside, etc. and decide what to wear when I leave for the day and what I need to bring if the weather is going to change drastically during the day. I don't need a weather person telling me this but I guess that there are those people who do fall into the category of lacking common sense. The sad thing is that it's just another thing that enables some people to not have to take responsibility for their actions.

We live in a society now where people are constantly pointing fingers to place blame on their behavior instead of owning up to it and saying that they screwed up. Instead, people look everywhere else to place the blame. A friend of mine told me that she was out with some people and one of the people in her group got upset because it started raining and "Gary didn't say it would be raining now." and she didn't have an umbrella. What the hell? If there's a chance of rain, bring your umbrella instead of looking back at the weather person and holding them responsible for your lack of common sense.

I wish people could start taking responsbility for their own actions because for those of us who do, we find it insulting to be treated as though we don't.

Until next time.
