This May OKCLesbian.com will celebrate its 3rd birthday. Back when I came up with the idea of a web site for the women of the LGBT community in Oklahoma, I really thought that everyone would immediately jump at the opportunity of an alternate way of meeting other women outside of the clubs and churches. I was disappointed that it didn't immediately happen. Some told me that it takes awhile and that a lot of people's attitudes are to wait and see what everyone else will do and so I took it as an opportunity to learn some more about patience (I'm not saying that I'm not a patient person but I will admit that when I get excited about something, I'm not always the most patient person because I want everyone to get excited about it like me:-)

Last Sunday, part of the vision I had for the web site actually happened as Lez Eat happened for the very first time. I was amazed at the turnout--15 women came to share a meal and conversation together and another woman dining at Gusher's joined us. We were a group of women of varying ages and backgrounds and we were meeting each other for the very first time but yet we weren't lacking for conversation and laughter. It was well worth the wait.

If you thought about coming to Lez Eat but were afraid to, don't be. If you thought about coming to Lez Eat but didn't think you'd fit in, you'd be wrong in your thinking. Those of us who were there Sunday night talked about how awesome it would be to fill Gusher's with women for Lez Eat. Wouldn't you like to be a part of that and meet some amazing people and make some new friends? Think about coming out for Lez Eat on February 11. Trust me when I say that you'll be glad that you did:-)
