Episode Six

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously on "The L Word". . .

Rehearsals are beginning for "Lez Girls." We're treated to a scene of horrible acting by the actresses picked to play the fictional Bette and Tina. They don't know anything about lesbian sex and Jenny decides that all actresses who have sex scenes are going to work with a lesbian sex coach.

Shane tries to apologize to Dawn and Lover Cindy. Dawn tells Shane that she wants SheBar to be in Jenny's movie. Shane tells her that she'll ask Jenny about it. Dawn then says she wants it to be in there as SheBar, not as some fake place. Shane says that she can't do that and Dawn once again says, "it's on" and threatens to ruin the Planet, etc. Shane tries to tell her that if Dawn has a problem with her, to take it up with her and to leave her friends out of it but Dawn continues her "it's on" (okay, I cannot stand people like that--her girlfriend broke the rules too and Shane's the only one at fault?) Lover Cindy tells Shane to call her.

Tasha stops by Alice's and Alice gives Tasha her things back and Tasha gives Alice her key back. Alice invites her in so she can check to make sure that Alice didn't forget anything and Tasha says that she trusts her. Alice says that Tasha doesn't trust her and Tasha says that she does but that they're not good for each other.

Tina stops by Bette's to pick up Angie but she's early. Bette is cooking dinner for Angie and the sexual tension in the room is high. Tina makes a move and they wind up moving things to the bedroom.

Jenny is in Vancouver, scouting locations for "Lez Girls" and throwing a hissy fit while she's doing it. She's mad that she's working on a Saturday and says that Vancouver is not like L.A. Adele takes it upon herself to fix things and sends a text message on Jenny's behalf and the response is that they get to shoot in L.A. Jenny is happy and decides to take Adele shopping for a new look--and winds up spending a ton of money that Adele learns is coming out of the wardrobe budget. Apparently Jenny has told Adele about her and Niki to protect her. Adele picks out an expensive necklace for Jenny to give to Niki.

Tina calls Bette to see if she wants to meet her and Angie at the Planet for breakfast. Jodi is over at Bette's so Bette can't really talk but does ask Tina if she wants to get together that night but Tina tells her that she's going to a party at Bette's boss' house (Phyllis). After she gets off the phone with Tina, Bette starts a bit of bickering with Jodi and winds up telling Jodi that she wants some Sunday alone time.

Meanwhile, Tina calls Alice and Shane and have them meet her at the Planet with Angie. The gals are talking and Bette calls to tell Tina that she'd like to meet her at the Planet. Tina tells her that she's already there and then suddenly, Angie sees some "puppies," which are rats running across the floor. The Department of Health shuts the Planet down. Shane tells Kit who she thinks is behind it and later Kit goes and does some target practice (I'm quite disturbed with the whole Kit and the gun thing--I'm worried that the writers are going to get rid of Kit by having her do something completely out of character).

Joyce stops by Phyllis' office and tells her that she's going to be her divorce lawyer again. She says that Phyllis owes her since she gave up the job to begin with so her and Phyllis could hook up and now that Phyllis broke her heart and Joyce is out of a job, she wants the job back.

There is a big party at Phyllis' house. Bette shows up, which surprises Tina and her and Bette wind up leaving and going to Tina's house. Phyllis is in total lesbian glory and is about ready to start stripping when her daughter shows up and freaks.

Over at Tina's, Bette tells Tina that she doesn't know what to do and that things between her and Jodi don't compare to what her and Tina had. Things get steamy and in the middle of the night, Bette wakes up to leave and tells Tina that she needs more time and Tina says that she doesn't know what she wants and that they both need to take some time and figure out what they each want. Okay, as much as I want to see Bette and Tina get back together, I don't like the fact that there's cheating going on, especially given that Bette cheated on Tina, which was completely devastating to Tina and now Tina is the "other woman." It's just wrong.

Phyllis asks Bette and Jodi to meet her daughter so she can see that there are stable lesbians. They also discuss the controversy surrounding one of Jodi's students and how the board is out for blood over the matter. Jodi says she's going to stand by her student and that she is resigning. She says that she has her work and most importantly, has Bette and you can see the guilt is getting to Bette.

It's the first day of shooting for "Lez Girls" and Adele is Jenny's tour guide when it comes to everything on the set as apparently she went over early in the morning to scout out everything. Niki is all attitude on the set and winds up walking off the set (could a more perfect actress have been picked to play Jenny?) Jenny goes to her trailor to see what's going on and Niki is pouting because Jenny has been treating her just like all of the other actresses. Jenny consoles her and they wind up getting it on--but Niki still has her microphone on and so some people on the set hear it, including Tina who looked like she threw up a little in her mouth when she listens in.

The rich guy who is paying for the movie shows up and Adele takes it upon herself to inform him that Jenny, the director, and Niki are sleeping together. It doesn't sit too well with the rich guy but Adele informs him it's because Niki was all set to quit the movie until Jenny decided to be lovers with her so she wouldn't leave. The rich guy is thrilled and Tina and the other producer's attempt to bring it all to light in the hopes of getting Jenny fired are squashed.

Dawn and the SheBar gang show up and start protesting the use of the location for the movie and try to have it shut down. Tina and the gang tell the cops that Dawn doesn't even live there and the rich guy offers to give them $25K to leave and one of Dawn's people break ranks to take the money. Of course Dawn keeps telling Shane that "it's on" and Shane taunts her by saying hi to Lover Cindy.

Bette shows up on the set and Tina takes her around showing her everything. One of the funniest comments ever made on the show was when Tina told Bette that Jenny is fucking the star and that it's like she's fucking herself.

Shane cuts Adele's hair and Adele tells her how she wants it and Shane points out to her that it's like Jenny's (did I not call it when I pointed out the "Single White Female?") Later, Max makes a comment about Adele's hair, saying that it seems to be a popular cut. The gang comments on it later and Shane said that Adele insisted that it be cut that way and Max tells Shane that Adele told him that Shane insisted that Adele let Shane cut it that way and that she felt uncomfortable with it. The lies are starting to come out. . .

Next week: Niki disappears from the set and is found at a Turkish oil wrestling event. Bette sees someone flirting with Tina. Shane tries talking to Phyllis' daughter.
