Episode Four

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously on "The L Word". . .

The auditions for the role of Jessie (i.e. Jenny in "Lez Girls") has started. It's no surprise that Jenny really likes the actress that takes the audition too far and slaps the other gal, who is reading with her, really hard.

The gang is taking a self-defense course in support of Kit. I was quite disturbed to see Shane stroking Jenny's hair while they were standing on the side lines. Yes, she's going through a celibacy phase, something totally foreign to her but desparate times don't call for Jenny.

The gals pair up to practice some self-defense moves and Tina and Jenny pair up together. I was really hoping for Tina to smack the crap out of Jenny. Bette learns that Tina had a date and had sex on the first date and threw a rather hard practice punch to Jodi in response.

Max posts a blog on OurChart talking about his journey as a FTM transgendered person. Alice calls him to bitch about it and say that he can have a once a week blog but not in the Guestbians section. Okay, since when has Alice's mind narrowed? She is the one who is bisexual and who dated a lesbian-identified male and now she's busting Max's chops? I'm not getting it. I hope they really explore this. . .intolerance (for lack of a better word) in the LBGT community.

The Army shows up at Alice's and go into her apartment and start snooping around, which freaks her out. Tasha comes by later to find Alice scrubbing off the chart and gets mad when she learns what happened. She goes to Beech's house (her Army lawyer) and chews him out because as her lawyer, he should have warned her that the Army might have people start snooping. It's late at night and she winds up waking up his wife and she apologizes to Beech's wife, making the point that she didn't mean to come busting in, unannounced, frightening her, etc. The next day, Beech shows up at Alice's, interrupting Alice and Tasha talking in bed and Alice tries to tell him that Tasha isn't there but Tasha's not having it. Beech's attitude takes a 180 and it was because his wife was disgusted at his response to Tasha's situation. He is now totally supporting Tasha's efforts in staying in the Army and even tells Tasha that Alice is a real catch.

Jenny is totally against casting Niki Stevens to play Jessie in "Lez Girls" and throws a hissy fit in the movie guy's office. She says that Niki doesn't look like a writer and really wants to cast the gal who slaps really hard. She storms out and Adele informs Tina and the movie guy that Jenny is trying to quit smoking (has anyone caught onto a theme here? Shane has mentioned trying to quit) and that she's really fragile.

Later on, Jenny's trying to pick out a dress to wear to the new opening of Shebar (Kit's new competiton). She's chomping on Nicorette as she doing so--which sounds disgusting, especially when viewing the show with the pseudo surround sound system that I have set up. She winds up spitting the gum out on the floor (this is in her own bedroom, mind you). Shane's looking at Jenny and flirting with her--again, this is a cry for help.

Kit goes and buys a gun, although she's not sure about needing bullets for it. Buy the bullets, Kit, and use the gun to shoot Jenny--please.

Alice and Tasha go to an underground gay party where a lot of closeted gay celebrities go. Alice winds up taking some pictures, even though she had promised the host that she would not do any sort of podcast of the event.

At the opening of the Shebar, Kit is not on the list to get in but the door person thinks Bette is pretty and decides to let her in but Bette says she's got to let all 4 of them in (Bette, Jodi, Kit, and Tom--who winds up dancing with Max all night). They all go in and Tina is already there with her date, dancing it up on the dance floor.

Niki Stevens is there and goes over to talk to Jenny and pleads with her to cast her for the part. She totally sucks up to Jenny, which is rather sickening, especially since it works, although Jenny learns that Niki is going to be cast in the part regardless but Niki wants Jenny's blessing. Turns out that Adele was behind getting Niki to go and talk to Jenny, which Tina is grateful for.

Shane shows up and immediately, the owners of Shebar, a couple, are smitten with Shane. They invite Shane into the VIP lounge and Shane's celibacy vow breaks as they engage in a threesome.

Things between Jodi and Bette are cooling off as Jodi goes to leave and Bette stays because she promised Shane that she wouldn't leave without her. They part with a simple kiss goodnight that was lacking in passion. Later on, Bette finds Tina sitting by herself. Tina doesn't know what she's doing there and is hiding from her date. She tells Bette how lucky Bette is for having Jodi and gets up to leave. As she passes by Bette, Bette grabs her arm and they kiss passionately. . .

Next time: Bette dismisses the kiss as getting caught up in the moment and Tina asks Bette if she's in love with Jodi. Shane hooks up with one of the owners of Shebar and the other finds out and. . .DRAMA.
