Episode 7

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously on "The L Word". . .

Tasha is getting dressed for work and starts having war flashbacks. I'm hoping this will lead into a good story down the road.

Jodi and Bette have a cozy morning together. BTW, Bette sure drops a lot of f-bombs, not that I have any room to talk but it just struck me when she told Jodi that the "f-ing alarm clock" was going off. During a moment of passion, Bette tells Jodi that she thinks she could fall in love with her. Jodi appears to not hear her and asks Bette if she said anything and Bette says that she hadn't.

Phyllis calls Bette at home and she's crying and drinking and can't function. Bette tells her that she needs to pull herself together and go to work. Jodi grabs the phone and tells Phyllis to stay where she's at and that they'll be right over. At this point Bette has to tell Phyllis that her and Jodi have been seeing each other.

Bette and Jodi tell Phyllis their stories about their first loves and getting their hearts broken. Bette learns that Jodi isn't monogamous through the story telling. Later, Bette goes to Jodi's studio and tells her that she doesn't think it's going to work between them because of that.

The psycho known as Jenny is burying Sounder in the flower bed and she talks like she truly had feelings of remorse for how she used Sounder. I didn't buy it. Max comes along, having finished reading Jenny's latest installment of "Lez Girls" and tells Jenny that he found it to be rather harsh and that it's not right for Jenny to be exploiting her friends. Jenny keeps insisting that it's fiction.

Later at the Planet, Helena is contemplating on whether or not she is going to sleep with Katherine to pay off her $50K debt. Shane, Alice, Kit and Jenny are all there listening to her and Jenny says, "Helena, we've all been whores at one time or another." I wish someone would have pointed out, "Jenny, speak for yourself." Shane and Kit share with Helena the things that they've done in the past for money and Jenny says, "See? We've all been whores." Loved it when Kit said, "The Princess of Darkness has spoken" in response to that.

Tasha learns that Alice and Papi had hooked up and she's upset about it because she doesn't want Papi's sloppy seconds. She also doesn't want to be an experiment for Alice. She told Papi that she's not a player like Papi is and that Papi needs to grow up. Finally we're seeing what most of my friends and I can relate to--a traditional lesbian:-)

Max goes back to work after sticking up for the gal who was passed over for a promotion. He was expecting a lot of people to be less than supportive but no one said anything except for one guy who made a point of showing him support.

Later Max leaves the office early to go to the Planet and says he had to get away from the office and mentions how they can all make his life hell. While at the Planet, Alice's web site is crashing again and Max takes a look at it and notices how many hits it's getting and suggests that she take steps to start making money off of it and offers to help her.

Alice goes to the military base to see Tasha and to tell her that she really likes her and that she's not a portal to Alice. Tasha takes her on a "mission," which is a helicopter ride with other family military members (was I the only one who was thinking that there is no way a civilian would be allowed to ride in a helicopter like that?) Later, Tasha and Alice finally kiss and Alice asks if they should go to someone's house and Tasha tells her that she should go home. She says she wants to go further but wants to be sure and they decide to go on a date. Yes, I'm liking this "traditional" lesbian:-)

Tina's boss tells her to get Jenny to agree to give them the rights to make "Lez Girls" into a movie. Her boss actually threatens Tina with her job over the issue. So Tina goes to the Planet to meet Jenny and stops and talks to Kit and lets the cat out of the bag about Angus cheating on her with Hazel.

While talking to Jenny, poor Tina has to suck up to her and I totally felt her pain as she looked like she wanted to hurl. And it's obvious that it's all starting to go to Jenny's head. Tina offers to help Jenny out by calling an agent to represent her.

Tina meets with Jenny later and finds Jenny surrounded by a bunch of Hollywood types and learns that there is now a bidding war for Jenny's movie. Jenny informs the Hollywood types that Tina's company needs to be included in the bidding war.

Helena goes to meet Katherine and learns that a game of strip gin rummy is the planned activity. If Helena loses all of her clothes, she has to sleep with Katherine but if Katherine loses all of her clothes, the debt is paid in full. Helena winds up winning after almost losing and her debt is cleared. Then things start getting steamy between Helena and Katherine.

Bette is online at home and gets an instant message from Jodi, who says she's been thinking. Jodi sends a message to Bette saying that she thinks she could fall in love with Bette too and logs off.

Shane and Paige get called to school because Shay and Jerod were involved in a fight with some boys who had called their moms "lezzies" and Shay had punched a kid. Paige volunteers her and Shane to talk to the parents and educate them. There's a meeting at the school with both the kids and their parents and both Shane and Paige are asked a lot of questions and it seems to go well. Later back at Shane's house, Paige points out to her that they've "done the time" and that it's time to "do the crime" and things start to get steamy. They are interrupted when a toilet flushes (both boys are sleeping and apparently one of them woke up to use the loo) so they stop. Okay, is it just me but what is it about that house that people like to do it in the kitchen? And with kids in the other room? How about using a little discretion? Oops, guess it's that "traditional" lesbian in me:-)

Next time: Tina tells Bette that she misses her and loves her. Kit breaks it off with Angus and says she's through with men and goes off with Papi. Helena's gambling goes to the next level.
