Previously on "The L Word". . .
The show opens with Max looking at himself in the mirror and then undressing.
Jodi and Bette are walking around campus and Jodi asks Bette about Nadia. Bette claims that there's nothing going on and Jodi says that Nadia doesn't have a poker face. Bette realizes that Jodi is family when her interpreter reminds Jodi of the fling that she had with a student.
Jenny gets told that the dog has to be put to sleep. The vet, Stacy Merkin's girlfriend (the writer from Curve) tells Jenny that she's given the dog a good 11 years and Jenny is actually truthful when she says that she hasn't. The vet thinks it's just the grief talking and invites her to dinner.
During dinner, Jenny learns that Stacy and her girlfriend are having problems. Jenny comes onto the vet and the vet admits that she wants to kiss Jenny but is in love with Stacy. Side note: I didn't realize this before until someone pointed it out but Jenny sounds like a hog when she talks with her mouth full of food. Plus she scraps her teeth with her fork.
Angus drops off Angelica at Henry's and Hazel, the nanny is there. She invites him in so he can give her guitar lessons and they start going at it with the kids in the other room. Henry and Tina come home later and see the two macking out on the porch and Tina says, "She is so fired."
Phyllis is all horny and Alice is getting tired. Phyllis bought the book, "The Whole Lesbian Sex Book" and wants to try everything in it--she wants to experiment. Phyllis tells Alice that she's the only one she needs while Alice tries suggesting that Phyllis needs to meet other women.
Max prepares a letter of resignation at work. The boss comes in and is concerned--turns out that Brooke hasn't told the boss everything and the boss is concerned because Brooke keeps going through guys.
Shane takes Shay over to the school mom's house so Shay can play with her son. The school mom, IMO, is rather whack because she changes right in front of her son, who is 9 years old. Shane realizes that the school mom is straight and then the school mom comes out and says that she wants Shane to hit on her. They are interrupted by the kids.
Tina and Bette meet for lunch and Tina tells Bette that Angus is cheating on Kit. While telling the story, Bette immediately jumps to the conclusion that Tina has moved in with Henry and Tina informs her that she has not. Tina wants to tell Kit what is going on and Bette wants for them to stay out of it. Tina makes a reference to Bette cheating about how it won't be as painful to find out about it early on. Bette tells Tina to give her time to decide what to do.
Alice goes over to Shane's because they are all going to go to this club. Shane invites Jenny and Alice says if Jenny's going, then she's not going to go. Alice is pissed because Jenny wrote an article about the gang in the New Yorker. Jenny claims it's fiction but the references strike too close to home and are rather insulting. Alice actually gets up in Jenny's face about it, which I found funny (go Alice). Jenny tries to give Alice a lesson in writing--talking about how a writer takes her experiences and uses her imagination to add things. Alice points out how Jenny's imagination was lacking when she could barely change the names.
While at the club, Papi shows up with her friend, Tasha and Papi says that it's a "welcome back into the world" celebration for Tasha (I'm guessing she's been in prison?) Shane tries picking up a gal at the club and Papi interferes. Stacy Merkin and her girlfriend are also at the club and Jenny and Stacy spot each other about the same time and the girlfriend spots "Debbie." Stacy doesn't want Jenny to see her and Jenny doesn't want the girlfriend to see her so she promises Alice a week of Starbucks to start kissing her (it would take a lot more than that to get me to kiss Jenny). Later, Alice starts talking with Tasha, who has a motorcycle.
Bette has to go to a fundraiser at Phyllis' house and Jodi and her interpreter are there. Jodi invites Bette outstide to get stoned. Meanwhile Helena, who is catering the fundraiser, gets caught up in talking to the people there and food starts burning and glasses get broken into other food during a kitchen mishap. She calls Alice and asks her to go to the market to get more food. Alice shows up and sees Phyllis with her husband and pictures of their children.
Outside, Bette, Jodi, and the interpreter are having a good time getting high and Jodi asks Bette to do a shot gun hit with her, which leads into an almost kiss when they are interrupted by Phyllis and Alice who have come outside. Alice says she doesn't feel comfortable doing it anymore and leaves Phyllis, who is telling her that she loves her.
Next time: Bette is caught in the middle of Alice and Phyllis and apparently Phyllis isn't thinking that it's over. Shane's modeling gets attention. Bette and Jodi kiss. Helena gets introduced to gambling.
