Previously on "The L Word". . .
Jenny is shown standing outside of some apartments screaming Stacy's (the writer from Curve) name. Still missing the flashbacks. . .
Bette is at work with her TA and her TA starts massaging her shoulders. Her TA hits on her and tells Bette that there are lots of faculty having affairs with their students and that they're all adults. Bette says it's something that she hasn't thought of but is obviously flattered by all of the attention.
Shane takes Shay to school and tries to get him enrolled. It doesn't look like it's going to happen because Shane doesn't have the paperwork and background information needed to get him enrolled. She gets frustrated and starts to leave but then goes back and convinces the school administrator to let Shay go to school there.
Jenny is over at Alice's, where Alice is picking up trash left by Helena. Jenny is going on about the writer, Stacy, whom she calls a "vagina wig." Jenny admits looking up an "S. Merkin" in the phone book and going over to the place and hollering out for her in the wee hours of the morning (does anyone still think that she's not a nut case?) Alice is surprised and Jenny goes on about the review and how unfair it was and Alice says that "lesbians love to eat their own." Alice tells Jenny about her and Papi and how Papi also hooked up with Helena but that Helena doesn't know that Alice knows.
Helena comes home and is discouraged because she's having a hard time finding a job. Alice decides that it's time for the "roommate rule" talk and points out the different space boundaries. She also tells Helena that she is a tidy person and that when it comes to the kitchen, a common area, that the untidy person needs to abide by the tidy person's rules.
Bette learns on the phone from Alice that Tina and Henry are having a cocktail party and that it's going to be a mixer for their gay and straight friends. Bette hadn't been invited to it and her boss, Phyllis, walks in and hears Bette talking about a crazy hot women's party at the Planet. Bette gets off the phone with Alice and Phyllis invites herself to the party at the Planet. Tina calls Bette to invite her to the cocktail party and says that she wasn't sure what she should have done about inviting Bette because she felt that Bette might make a scene. Bette informs Tina that she's moved on, etc. and that Tina, herself, has caused some scenes and that she was going to decline the invitation.
Max is working on a car with Shay helping him. Shane asks Shay about going to the cocktail party and Max offers to let Shay stay with him. Max says that he wasn't invited and didn't really know Tina and doesn't care because that way he doesn't have to deal. So Shane lets Shay stay behind with Max.
At the cocktail party, the straight guys are trying to figure out which of the women are lesbians. They're wondering where Tina's ex is at and get told that she's not coming and then suddenly, Bette shows up. Alice says, "Thank God you're here, we're totally out-numbered." It's pretty divided for awhile and then Alice announces, "Grace period's up. I'm going in."
One of the guys starts a homophobic conversation with Bette. Another one jumps in and says that he doesn't have a problem with 2 women being together but had a problem with 2 men being together. Angus jumps in and says it's not too bad if you have the right lube.
Angus' band gets offered a $100K deal from a record company. His bandmates show up at the Planet and tell him that the company doesn't want him but that he would get song writing credits. He is very upset and Kit tries to comfort him but he wants to be left alone. I'm afraid that those 2 are going to break up--he didn't want Kit to get the abortion and now this. Why can't we have a couple that lasts on this show???
Shane and Papi "meet" at the Planet and it was this stupid showdown cowboy thing that was totally contrived. Papi tells Shane that she's Shane's her competition. Shane says she doesn't know what they're competing for but that Papi wins. I love Shane's "dont' give a shit" attitude.
Phyllis is at the party and meets the gang. Jenny is still going on about the writer from Curve and Phyllis gives her the suggestion about disproving what the critic said with regards to the critic's girlfriend being a survivor. Jenny goes home and asks Max to do a search about the girlfriend but of course doesn't tell Max the truth about why she wants the information.
Max goes to a pool party at the boss' house. He freaks out when the boss' daughter tries to take his shirt off and explains it away with a lie about not being able to get in the water.
Shane offers Helena at job at Wax, which proves to be a disaster. Poor Helena isn't very good when it comes to lots of menial multi-tasking. Shane gives her a pep talk and tells her that she'll find what she's good at doing.
Phyllis tells Bette that she's attracted to Alice. Bette tells Alice about it and she thinks it's funny. Bette is shocked when Alice goes out on a date with Phyllis.
Bette is working late with her TA and offers to give her a ride home. During the drive, the TA really starts hitting on Bette and Bette pulls the car over and caves in. . .
Next time: Max tells the boss' daughter. Alice says that she likes trying an older vintage. Papi challenges the gang to a basketball game. There's a new artist who comes into Bette's life.
