Episode 12

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously on "The L Word". . .

Tina tries to talk to Jenny about how she's getting fired at the movie studio but Jenny's too busy for her because she's getting a puppy. So Tina tells her that the meeting for that afternoon is cancelled because one of the guys is out of town.

Paige is bothered because it seems like Jerrod keeps busting in on her and Shane. Paige tells Shane that she wants to stay over. Shane says that they'll talk to Jerrod. They take Jerrod out to lunch and start talking to him about them being girlfriends. Jerrod says that he doesn't want his mom to be a "lez" and leaves the table. Shane goes and talks to him and mentions that if they all live together, then him and Shay could be like brothers. Jerrod points out that Shay doesn't live with her anymore. . .

Tasha tries talking to Alice, who is avoiding her because she's upset about Tasha going to Iraq. Tasha wants Alice to come to her going away party but Alice isn't listening. They talk a little bit and Alice realizes that Tasha isn't trying to get out of going to Iraq and that upsets her more.

Helena is moving into Katherine's, with Papi's help. Papi makes some comments about how Katherine can afford a nice place, how come she can't pay to have someone move Helena in and Helena responds that she's not working and that she's quite capable. Papi asks if that's what Katherine told her and Helena goes on about how she's tired of everyone making comments about hers and Katherine's arrangement and that Katherine is being generous and giving her luxuries that she couldn't live without.

Bette talks to Tina about what is going on with Jodi. Tina calls Bette out on her behavior and types up a message to Jodi, describing Bette's behavior, and Bette lets her send it. Tina tells her to follow it up with something romantic and Bette says that she already sent flowers. Tina tells her that flowers are generic.

Kate asks Tina if Bette was the person she has feelings for and the reason why Tina wouldn't spend the night the other night. Tina admits that Bette was the reason she didn't spend the night and is concerned about getting involved with Kate because they're working together.

Jenny shows up at the meeting with her new dog, Sounder, and starts going off on Tina in front of the movie people. Kate stands up for Tina and says that Tina is a good friend to Jenny. Jenny keeps going on blasting Tina and Tina winds up calling her the "C" word, a word I hate but it fits Jenny. Then Sounder pees on the table.

Jodi calls Bette through her interpreter. The interpreter gets onto Jodi because Bette is trying and Jodi is being cold. Jodi is touched when Bette tells her that Angelica signed, "I love you" the night before.

Max is going to San Francisco for the surgery but isn't sure he's going to have it and tells that to Bette, Shane, and Alice as they prepare to go and steal a sign that Jodi would like to use in a sculpture.

Now Bette, Shane, and Alice going to steal the sign is one of the reasons why I love the L Word as it was a demonstration of friendship without a lot of drama, although Alice's antics were rather dramatic. As they were climbing over the fence, Alice tells Bette that Tina wants to get back together but Bette doesn't think so because Tina is helping Bette get Jodi back. Shane talks about a house with plenty of room for the kids and that concerns Bette and Alice as they wonder what's gotten into Shane. The hysterical part of the sign stealing adventure was when they heard someone coming and started running and Alice's jacket got caught and Alice hollered, "Go without me! Leave me behind! Save yourself!"

Jenny drags (literally) her dog around at a hotel while she's looking for Kate. She starts talking to Kate and Stacy Merkin shows up because she's interviewing Kate and Stacy starts going on about how screwed up Jenny is. Apparently her and Lindsey are no longer together and Lindsey's pretty messed up after the deal with Jenny. Kate says that Jenny's more twisted than the characters in her book.

Bette introduces Phyllis to Joyce, the lesbian lawyer, so Joyce can help Phyllis with getting a divorce. Later, they stop over at Bette's to announce that they've hooked up.

Shane and Paige are alone together at last at Shane's and Shane suggests that they take a house together. They get passionate and Shane has visions about their lives together, with Shay, living like the Cleavers.

Alice is contemplating the situation with Tasha and Dana "appears." Dana coaches her on life's losses and tells Alice to go put on her party dress and go to Tasha's party.

At the party, Katherine wages with Helena on how long Shane and Paige will stay together. If they're not together in 6 months, Katherine will give Helena $1 million. If they are together, Helena will be Katherine's servant and sex slave for a year. Katherine then leaves to go to a poker game and Helena busts into her safe and takes out all of the money.

Bette calls Tina, who is walking along the beach with Kate, and asks her what she should say to Jodi when she gives her the sign. Tina coaches her and Kate seems put out by all of it.

Jenny decides to take a rubber raft for a ride and Shane, Paige, Kit, Angus, and Papi notice later that Sounder is running around and Jenny is no where to be found.

Bette shows up at Jodi's site with the sign. Jodi tells her that she better not break her heart and they kiss.

And the last scene for Season 4, Tasha holding Alice on the beach as the sun is coming up.

That wraps up Season 4. So many questions for next season--will Bette and Tina get back together or are Bette and Jodi going to work out? Will Tasha come back to Alice from Iraq? Will Helena get busted for stealing the money? Will Shane and Paige work out? Will Max have the surgery? And finally--will Jenny wind up being food for the fish?
