Previously, on The L Word. . .
Jenny tells Shane that she's stripping because she's in charge and it's helping her remember her childhood stuff. She says that she doesn't remember everything but that there are things that pop up that make her wonder if they really happened or what.
Helena shows up at the hospital when Bette and Tina arrive for Tina's doctor's appointment. Helena wants Tina to go to lunch with her and her mom and Tina tells her to ask one of her other girlfriends.
Dana seems to be pulling away from Alice and Alice is getting clingy.
Tina tells Bette that she wants to move back in with Bette, into their home, so her, Bette, and the baby can be at home together. Bette seems surprised and I'm wondering since they didn't show Bette getting all excited (like going over to Tina and hugging and kissing her), that maybe things won't work out.
Helena's ex is at lunch with her mom and Helena, like the spoiled brat that she is, almost leaves but her mother orders her back.
Bette and Kit hold a memorial for their father, which was a tribute to the actor who played him, Ossie Davis, who passed away in February of this year.
Dana flirts a bit with Laura, which is witnessed by Alice. Alice asks Dana to move in with her and Dana says that she doesn't know but that she doesn't have doubts about them.
Bette gets fired from her job--at the memorial service for her father.
At a concert, Helena menions having a baby with one of her girlfriends (the gal who Bette had asked out earlier in the season). Bette has it out with Helena because Bette believes that Helena was behind her getting fired. Tina's water breaks at the concert.
Dana and Alice talk and Dana says that she "likes" Alice. Alice is confused because Dana moved in with Tonya after 2 days and Dana points out that's why she wants to take things slower. Dana says that the way Alice acted when Dana went out to dinner with Laura freaked her out and Alice realizes that she's turning into a smothering person--someone that she's not liking.
Shane and Carmen spend a nice evening together and Shane tells Carmen that she loves her. Wouldn't it be something if Shane wound up in a solid relationship?
Shane finds Jenny cutting herself in the bathroom and Jenny admits that she needs help.
Tina's baby is in distress so they go to the hospital (it was to be a home birth). Tina gives birth to a baby girl, named Angelica. Tina's blood pressure drops and she's moved into ICU. Now, the whole gang shows up and Bette tells them that Tina is fine and that she'll be down in a little while because she hasn't seen the baby yet. Makes me wonder if they're not setting things up for the possibility that the actress who plays Tina isn't coming back as she had her own child just this past November (Jennifer Beals, BTW is due with her first child in the fall). I checked the Internet Movie Database for any information but didn't see anything about the status of the various characters.
So another season of "The L Word" comes to a close. So many questions for next season: Will Shane and Carmen develop into a strong couple? Will Alice and Dana be comfortable with the feelings that they have for each other? Will Jenny get the help she needs? Will Bette and Tina work things out and how will they adapt to being parents? Will Kit find love? Will Helena get knocked down a few pegs?
If you missed any of this season, it is coming out on DVD. In the meantime, Showtime has another GLBT series starting in June. I can't remember the name but I think it starts June 24.
