Episode 10

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously, on The L Word. . .

Jenny gets Mark's attention through the cameras and calls him out on spying on everyone. She tells him not to tell the others because she doesn't want it to ruin their vacation. She also said that she will be the one who decides when the cameras are removed.

Jenny tries backing out of going on the cruise but Carmen and Shane talk her into going. Carmen says that she wants to go with her girlfriend and Jenny asks who that is, Carmen says it's Jenny and Jenny says to please tell the truth.

Helena buys Tina a $5000 gown. I only mention this because I cannot imagine spending $5000 on a dress, even if I was a femme lesbian. There are so many other things one can do with $5000. And let's keep in mind that Tina is pregnant--not like she's going to be wearing that dress more than once.

Mark hints to Shane that he screwed up but won't tell her any details. He tells her that he's her friend. She doesn't know what to make of his comments.

Dana doesn't want to carry on her bag at the airport and there's a reason--her sex toys are in the bag and it gets screened and then opened in front of everyone. Shane, Carmen, and Jenny have a good chuckle and Alice tries to cover things up by saying that the toys are hers but she was surprised as she didn't know that Dana had purchased some of the things that were discovered.

Bette and Kit's dad visits and it's obvious that he's rather disoriented. He suggests that Kit comes to dinner with him and Bette--I guess it was the first time in 14 years that he suggested inviting Kit and even said to extend the invitation to Kit's boyfriend (Benjamin who was in town) and Bette gets upset because he's doing that but won't ask about Tina and won't refer to her by name.

On the lesbian cruise, there's a group called "OWL"--Older Wiser Lesbians. I hope I'm an "OWL" when I grow up (I know I'll be older and I know I'll be a lesbian--it's the wiser part:-)

Shane, Carmen and Jenny share a room and it was supposed to be a suite but only had one bed. Jenny suggests that they all share the bed with Carmen in the middle. She keeps bringing up 3-ways and Shane mentions to Carmen that Jenny is acting weird.

The 3 are out on the dance floor and Jenny and Carmen kiss and then Jenny pulls Shane into the mix and Shane and Carmen wind up kissing and realizing that there's definitely something going on between the two of them.

There is a sex book author on the cruise, named Pheobe, and it took me a minute to place her but she's the actress who played George's girlfriend on "Seinfeld"--the one he decided to say "I love you" to because he had never said it before and he didn't get the "I love you return." Pheobe hits on Shane and they wind up going back to Pheobe's room but both want to be in control and realize it's not going to work. So Shane asks to sleep on her couch.

Dana and Alice play "Love Boat" with Dana being Captain Stubing and Alice is Julie. They get interrupted as Dana is one of the panelists on the trip and she needs to go and sit at the captain's table. Both go in their "Love Boat" costumes.

At Tina's awards dinner, Tina tells Bette that she's glad that she's there and that she wants to start dating. She says that her and Helena aren't exclusive. Bette gets called away from the dinner because her dad collapses while having dinner with Kit and Benjamin.

The girls get back from vacation and Mark is there with all of the cameras and tapes. It's revealed that Jenny knows about the conversation between Carmen and Shane and Carmen tries to tell Jenny that she wants to be with Jenny. Shane cries a bit before hitting Mark.

Next week: Bette and Kit find out that their dad has cancer. Dana's brother comes for a visit during Pride week and it appears that he could be gay.
