Previously, on The L Word. . .
Okay, this week's issue of TV Guide warned about the new opening music. I hope they go back to the old or revamp it.
Tina is pregnant but no one knows it. This wasn't really alluded to at the end of last season. Bette had asked Tina about trying again but Tina said that she wasn't ready, that maybe in a few months. But I had noticed in the pictures in TV Guide that the actress who plays Tina looked pregnant and the article said that she and her husband had a baby in November so that's why it's in the story.
Bette is still playing around with Candance and hasn't called Tina but finally realizes after a night with Candance that she really does love Tina and wants to be with her. There is a very ugly scene at the Planet when Bette tells Tina that she hasn't tried contacting her because she wants to be sure of things. She apologized to Tina, who got pissed (and rightfully so) because Tina knew that Bette wasn't home all night and asked her if Bette told Candance in person or on the phone and informed her that she had driven by the house at 2:00 in the morning and that Bette's car wasn't there. She said that so basically Bette spent a night with Candance and then tried to come and apologize.
Things are awkward between Alice and Dana because of the kiss at the end of last season. They bump into each other in the loo at the Planet and talk about it for a bit. . .and kiss again. Later, they arrange to meet and talk about things and admit their attraction to each other and the things that they find attractive in the other. Alice thinks that by admitting that they are attracted to each other, that it will take the power out--they both aren't sure about what to do with these feelings.
Dana is still with her strange fiancee (Tanya) who is coming out more and more as a gold digger. She wanted to list an almost $2000 expresso machine on their wedding registry and said that their friends could chip in together for it because they were so generous.
Marina is out of the picture. Apparently she attempted suicide and is now back in her home country under the care of her mother. There are vaious stories about how she tried committing suicide--hanging herself, driving her car into the side of the hotel, driving her car off the PCH (? I'm thinking Pacific Coast Highway), and overdose. I think the latter is the true version because a gal that she was dating (who was also dating Jenny), got called by the hotel staff. At the hospital, Marina kept saying Jenny's name, who is know experiencing guilt.
Kit is trying to buy the Planet and went to ask Ivan (who gave her a key to her place) for the money for the down payment. Now Ivan is apparently a transsexual (it wasn't that obvious to me last season--I thought she was just a drag king) and Kit walked in before Ivan had a chance to get dressed and Ivan was upset and told her to leave. Earlier, Kit almost kissed Ivan but Ivan wouldn't let her because she wanted Kit to be sure.
Shane got another hairdressing gig and met Carmen, a new character, at a television studio. They hooked up there and then later, Shane was meeting someone at a club and Carmen was there and was wondering what was going on. Shane told her that her "plan" was to just do what she wanted to do. Alice tried talking to Shane about what was going on but Shane wouldn't open up.
Alice has taken up knitting (which is the latest craze for both men and women) and was supposed to be knitting a hat. A lady pointed out that no one could get their head in it, to which Alice replied that it was a harness for a strap-on dildo.
Alice met with Bette and asked her if she would be out of the house for a few hours because Tina wanted to stop by and get some more of her things. Bette said that it was still Tina's house and that she could come by anytime she wanted. They got to talking and Bette tried saying that she couldn't control herself, that Tina had pulled away, that she had pulled away--basically trying to rationalize things so she wouldn't have to take the blame (I hate it when people don't fully own up to things), to which Alice points out that she couldn't just deal with it for 3 months given the 7 years that they were together. Bette tells Alice to f-off.
Next week--there looks to be a strain in Bette and Alice's friendship and Tina gets a lawyer.
