Previously, on The L Word. . .
The flashback shows a group of "recovered/recovering" gays and lesbians in a relgious group. One is presumably Jenny's step-dad, Frank, which explains why he's in such denial about Jenny's sexual orientation.
Jenny burns her manuscript and Moira comes back from spending the night away. Jenny tells her that she got a job at The Planet and Moira tells her that she doesn't know what she's doing in L.A.
Bette and Tina are still sniping at each other and Bette is finding herself on the receiving end of Tina acting the way that she used to when Bette was the breadwinner and Tina stayed at home.
Kit helps Carmen get a deejay gig and it's on the same night as Shane's big night. Carmen hesitates because she wants to be there for Shane's night but Shane tells her to go. Carmen's upset because it doesn't really seem to matter to Shane whether or not she's there.
Dana's tennis career is a "come back" story? Guess I missed something as I don't recall it being said before that her career was on the downslide at any point. She has problems at a big tennis match but winds up winning. Afterwards, Laura is noticing that she's looking really tired.
Bette needs to go to D.C. to speak before a group of senators and her and Tina argue about it. Tina doesn't like Bette going off and Angelica having to be left with a babysitter. Bette tells Tina a couple of times that she misses Tina--she gets no response.
Jenny and Moira go to The Planet, where Billy mistakes Moira for a guy. He then invites Moira to a party for "people like us." At the party, Moira says that she's thought about becoming a guy ever since she was a little kid.
Angus and Kit have dinner. Kit's bothered by the age difference but Angus feels that they were meant to happen.
In D.C., Bette tells off a senator when he calls her art piece unpatriotic and starts burning it. She responds by saying that lies told by presidents as justification for war is unpatriotic. Amen to that!
Senator Grisham, the assumed dyke, hits on Bette. Bette calls Tina and tells Tina that she wants her to care and asks her if she does care. Tina doesn't answer. Bette, surprisingly, given her history, doesn't cheat on Tina.
Alice is having a hard time doing her radio show without being able to talk about Dana. She gets talking about Dubya's penis. Laugh out loud moment: she calls it his "weapon of mass destruction" and says that someone can use it to "blow him out of office."
At Shane's big night, Moira shows up in a suit and Alice thinks she looks like a hot guy. Carmen winds up being able to arrange things so that she can show up later (Alice and Helena made comments about how she wasn't there.)
Next time: Alice meets a new woman. Shane's old married flame, Cherie, pops back in and Carmen's not happy. Tina tells Bette that she has feelings about men. Dana finds out that she has breast cancer.
Good news: The L Word has been renewed for a 4th season!
