Previously, on The L Word. . .
The opening "flashback" scene is a bus load of nuns set in 1984. Okay, I'm not sure what order the nuns are supposed to be with because their habits were more like what the nuns wore in the 60s and early 70s (I know that the Presentation nuns and the BVM nuns didn't wear habits like that but I digress. . .) Two of the nuns start fooling around on the bus and I guess growing up Catholic, I found that little bit hard to believe--I'm not saying that I don't think that there aren't lesbian nuns who fool around, I'm saying that I would think that they would have been more discreet but again, I digress. . .
Job changes are in the air as Shane gets offered a job as a hair dresser at a skateboarding park. Helena gets another Tarot card reading which points to Tina being a good business partner to work with. And Bette loses a temporay job and the stipend that goes with it because the display is critical of the Bush administration.
Bette complains to Tina about what has happened with her job but Tina doesn't really want to listen. Tina suggests that they let Angus go because they can't afford him and there's another argument about money. Bette starts thinking about auctioning off some of her art collection in order to raise some money.
Jenny's back in town with Moira, who kind of puts Carmen off with some of her comments. She also says to Shane, "let us butches unload the truck" and calls Shane "buddy."
Poor Kit is having hot flashes and sees Angus with baby Angelica and right away questions him on what he is doing with her niece. Angus tells Kit that he is the "manny" and Kit starts calling him, "Mangus." Kit develops a crush on "Mangus."
Helena offers Tina a job at her studio and Tina wants to think about it. She tells Bette about the offer and Bette's upset that she's thinking about it and tells her that she doesn't like the idea. Tina tells Bette that it's not up to her to decide and that someone has to make a living. Tina questions Bette's desire about making a living.
Alice gets in trouble at the radio station for mentioning Dana's name 27 times during a broadcast (which was down from the previous broadcast where she mentioned Dana 43 times). Dana goes to the gyno and there is some concern and more tests required and while waiting, a commercial for Alice's radio show is heard by Dana and a nurse and the nurse comments on how Alice's ex seems like a real nit wit. The nurse realizes that Dana is the ex-girlfriend when her name is called.
Shane and Carmen are over at Alice's to pick her up for Jenny's welcome back dinner. Carmen is a bit concerned about Alice's cut-out of Dana and Shane informs her that she should have seen it before. The laugh out loud moment in this episode: Alice asks Carmen if she has too much lipstick on and Carmen suggests that she blot it and Alice blots it by kissing the Dana cut-out.
At the restaurant, Jenny does a crappy job of introducing Moira to the others and Moira is feeling totally out of place. She's concerned about the high prices on the menu--so is Tina, especially when Bette proceeds to order one of the more expensive menu items. The girls kind of talk around Moira and Moira decides to leave and Jenny does not go with her.
While Jenny is out in the parking lot talking to Moira, the others start talking about Moira's being "butch" and how she's wrong for Jenny and that maybe Jenny just didn't want to be alone and that's why she's with someone who is wrong for her. Shane said it best, "What difference does it make if someone is butch or femme? Leave labels alone and let people be who they are." Amen to that.
Dana and Alice meet in the bathroom and actually talk nice to each other. Dana apologizes to Alice for hurting her and making her unhappy and they both hope that someday they can be friends again.
Bette tries to pay for everyone's dinner (Tina has a hard time keeping her mouth shut when Bette tries to pay and rolled her eyes a few times when Bette was talking) and her credit card is rejected.
After dinner--Moira isn't back at the house and Jenny realizes that she was a total asshole for not going with her. Shane admits that they all could have been more accommodating to Moira. Tina calls Helena and accepts the job. Dana pulls away from Laura when Laura touches her breasts. Bette starts wrapping up the art pieces that she initially wouldn't consider selling.
Next time: Moira is going by "Max" and says she's thought about becoming a man. Dana is having problems in a tennis match. It appears that Bette is going to cheat on Tina again when she's out of town.
