Episode Two

rainbow_thinline (2K)

Previously, on The L Word. . .

Jenny and Moira are road tripping back to L.A. Along the way, Moira uses some male terms (e.g. "giving head" and "blue ball") and is able to stand while peeing. When they run out of gas, she is mistaken for a man by the couple who stops to help and introduces herself as Max. Later, some homophobic thugs start hasseling her and Jenny and Jenny pulls out the taser that Moira has and tasers one of the guys (quite severely, I might add--I wouldn't trust girlfriend with a water gun).

Kit hires a new manager and has a huge party at The Planet, which is a fundraiser for a local AIDS charity. Her son, David, shows up and makes comments about the "freaks." Bette is wanting David to be a male influence in Angelica's life but it's obvious that David was very much influenced by Bette and Kit's father and is very homophobic.

Alice goes to a love addicts meeting at a local gay and lesbian center. She tells the group that Dana will come back to her. Helena picks her up and has a surprise--a lesbian house cleaner. Alice initially thinks that Helena hired a hooker for her. Back at Alice's house, Helena sees the Dana shrine and tells Alice that she's got to get rid of it (Alice's drug choice this week: pot). So Alice takes the box of sex toys that her and Dana collected while they were together to The Planet and dumps them on the table where Dana and Laura are sitting and comments that she didn't have time to wash all of them.

Bette and Tina meet with the social worker where David flat out refuses to endorse the adoption. He says that he thinks it would be a mistake and that the baby needs a mother and father. Kit is pissed and calls him an arrogant little prick.

Alice overhears Bette and Tina talking about a birthday party--which Bette and Tina are planning for Angelica and thinks they're planning a surprise birthday party for her. She is able to get Bette to invite Helena to the party. Alice shows up at the birthday and is bummed to find out that it's a kids party. Helena informs Bette and Tina about what Alice thought and Bette and Tina quickly add Alice's name to the birthday cake. Alice announces that she went 47 minutes without thinking of Dana. Bette and Tina ask Angus, the guitar player for the children's group, to work as a part-time nanny.

Jenny and Moira go to a bar and Jenny gets jealous when Moira dances with another woman, even though Jenny said that she wasn't Moira's girlfriend. Back at the hotel, Moira asks Jenny what she wants and they still can't decide.

Shane gets dressed to go to Carmen's family function. The laugh out loud moment: Shane wearing the dress and sneakers. Carmen cracks up laughing and says she looks like she's 5 years old (I was reminded of that character, "Ramona" from the books by Beverly Clearly). At Carmen's mom's house, they want to fix Shane's hair and she winds up wearing a long-hair wig. Another laugh out loud moment: Shane trying to walk in high heels.

Tina and Bette are having problems. Bette tells a gallery person that they fight about everything--money, what do with the baby, etc. The gallery person tells Bette a motivational speaker, who Bette goes to listen to. Tina is in a chatroom--and agrees to cyber sex with a guy. . .

Next time: Helena hires Tina to work for her. Dana gets a mammogram and there are concerns. Moira isn't comfortable with Jenny's friends.
