So, Friday the 2nd was Winter Jam 2007! i went and saw Hawk Nelson and some other people. i like Hawk Nelson the most tho. he is pretty neat. well, i went, and i took one of my best friends with me, and happen to share the exact same name.
Kaci, my mom and myself all scored some AMAZING floor seats, might i add, we were late because i had to work, and it was 10$ at the door, no assigned seating. we proceeded it as a normal concert, we danced, and clapped, and sang and screamed, but then, then they started to talk, and tell us about babies in foster care, or a children's home and how there would be one person taking care of 80 little babies, all in their little cribs, and a guy walked in, and asked why it was so quiet, and the lady taking care of them said they were sleeping. if you have ever been around children, you would know, that if you have 2, they are NOT going to take maps, especially at the same time, and the guy said, no, that cant be, what is really going on here?! and she explained to the guy, that these babies have been here so long that they have cried so much, that they don't cry anymore.
it hit me. hard. i realize that a lot of times i get upset because i cant go somewhere, do something, i don't have a car, and i haven't taken drivers ed, i complain about so much, when there are these babies that have cried so much, they have no more tears left to cry.
--don't worry, it gets better. me and my friend, like usual, were reading each others minds, and i looked back at her, and we both just stared for a moment, and i said "lets do this" so, i filled out the paperwork, and made a pledge to support this little baby, and send her money every month, she was born in Korea on August 30th 2006, not even a year old, a beautiful baby girl. her name is Ye-Rin.
i had been wanting to do this for so long, and i realize now more than ever, that you are never to young to make a difference.
challenge yourself. reach out. smile at someone.
believe it or not, it saves lives.
