Many people want to find a greater spirituality in their work. But they are afraid of bringing "religion" into their workplace. The secret to being more spiritual in everyday encounters is to experience God constantly and in creative ways.
Diane Nettifee is a spiritual director and workplace coach from Minneapolis. She recommends using Ignatian Spirituality. She uses the Ignatian principles to help people in the workplace to "clarify their deepest desires and values, experience divine guidance, come to new freedom, and make confident decisions about their lives."
She uses 3 Ignatian exercises to accomplish this: spiritual freedom, finding God in all things, and the belief that God speaks to us through out deepest desires.
She advocates slowing down, waking up and connecting with the presence of God in our lives. And this includes our work environment.
How about you? Do you take God to work with you? If not, maybe that is why your work is mundane and seems trivial.
Ask God to go to work with you this week……………see if you can concentrate on things that really make a difference.
